Definition

Gold is as its name implies: the monetary unit in the world of Newerth, where Savage 2 takes place. It is associated with the color yellow and the animal beaver (is there an icon association?).

War is just like politics and dating: the most important thing is MONEY!

Team Gold

Team gold is a sum of gold for use by the commander. Unless there is no commander, players can only use team gold for repairs; a commander can mark buildings that cannot be repaired if he wishes to spare the gold. If there is no commander, players can use team gold as a builder or conjurer to place buildings or perform repairs. Commanders can also use team gold to employ peons.

Team gold is acquired in three methods:

  • Gold is collected from controlled mines once every interval.
  • If a player earns gold for his actions, a small percent is taxed by the commander.
  • Players can also voluntarily donate gold from their own purse in exchange for experience equaling 50% the gold they donate.

Player Gold

Player gold is used to buy things that benefit the player, or to spawn as different units. Heavy infantry and siege units all cost gold. Any item also costs gold. A player may also donate their gold to the Team Gold from the Buildings Tab or the Loadout Screen; doing so earns them some experience.

Player gold is acquired in multiple ways:

  • Anytime a player kills or scores an assist on an NPC, peon, or enemy.
  • Any amount of damage incurred on an enemy building.
  • Healing or buffing allies.
  • Selling back items or switching from an expensive unit to a cheaper/free one.
